Item Labels

From dumb to smart and anything in between – we’ve been supplying item bar code labels to libraries for over 30 years. Our labels are printed with our DigiTek process using high quality archival label material and an aggressive adhesive. An over-laminate is also used for added image protection. We can also add color to your labels at no additional charge giving you the ability to color code such things as a particular branch in your library system.

	Basic - This format has a bar code, bar code number, and library name. Each label can go on any book because the number is linked to the book after the label is placed.
	Smart - A smart label contains specific book information such as call number, title, and author. Smart labels are only good for one specific book. By using smart labels, the bar code number does not need to be scanned in because the numbers are pre-loaded before the labels are produced. Labels will be supplied in shelf-list order.
	Double - The double format has an additional bar code human readable number with each label. This format is used when an additional physical record of the number is needed for a shelf list or some other type of file.
	Twin - A Twin format is a set of two identical bar codes. Twin labels are used when libraries want to have more than one label on each book. By placing a label on the front and the back of the book the librarian at the checkout desk never has to turn the book over to scan the label, which reduces the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome. If a label is ever damaged or removed from a book, having a second label also eliminates any problems associated with locating the book in the system.
	Digital Color - Labels are available in all the above formats plus digital color gives libraries access to hundreds of colors. Libraries can now add their logos, graphics, or any other desired design to their labels to further enhance their identification process.
